Ideas & Advice Shall We Dance |
To Dance or Not to Dance?
If you are like me, then one of the ‘moments’ you would like to remember is your first dance! Dancing is truly one of the nicest ways to enjoy your wedding reception and if you committed to NOT dancing then you are missing out on one of the nicest parts of your wedding day. It is when everyone lets their hair down and truly enjoys the evening, and believe me you want to be part of it!
So you are not into dancing but would like to be part of the fun, I suggest that you go for dance lessons ASAP. Besides the fact that you will be working towards you wedding night, you will be doing something social with your partner every week, and this builds your relationship.
There are two types of classes you could enroll for; the first is the PRIVATE CLASS, where the dance instructor has private lessons with you for the choreographed first dance. This is usually the one that everyone enrolls for and is very important.
But, the better option is to enroll for a regular dance class with the school/class. This allows you to learn other social dances as well as getting know other people before your big day. I truly believe that this class is worth so much more than the private class, and usually costs so much less. REMEMBER, your wedding consists of many more dances than just the first dance, and so learning other dances besides the first dance is great.
Some of the dances to consider for your first dance (ranked in order of ease – in my opinion)
Rumba
Waltz
Fox Trot
Quickstep
Cha Cha Cha (for something different)
Tango
Some dances that you can enjoy on your evening
Jive
Samba
Cha Cha Cha
Salsa
