MEET SHAN EDGAR
Our Spotlight is on Bride Clothing this month!!!!!
Lindie and I met up with the owner of Bride Clothing the very spunky Shan Edgar, at Ciao Baby Cucina in Sandton City.
Shan's business makes high quality funky clothing items for the entire retinue. The items range from Brides Tees to Tees for the doting aunt of the Groom, peak caps, and so much more. Needless to say, Lindie and I have most of the range for our wedding!!!!!
And for ten lucky November registration brides, we sent you a complimentary spaghetti Tee.
We asked Shan the following questions:
1. Why did you get into the wedding industry?
I am a qualified Aesthetician, but my hobby has always been handcrafted and painted clothing, and a couple of years ago I wanted something Novel and different for a friend of mine who was getting married, for her Hen’s Party. I wanted to create a stylish concept, something pretty and bling, but not trashy, that would expose her beauty and yet still allow her to go out and enjoy the evening and get all the attention she deserved…. Things moved on rapidly from there.
2. Who has been your most interesting Client - Good or bad experience?
All brides have their own story to tell, but I suppose that the most interesting client to date, has to have been the girl whose fiancé ate his own hair in a bowl of milk to win a house, a car and a million rand!
3. What is the most popular item you sell to brides?
Definitely the bride and bridesmaid T-shirts for the whole entourage as everyone can be included, and it is a great gift and can be worn on all occassions other than the Hen’s Party.
4. What describes your business style?
Stylish, personalized and energetic … but above all fun. Everything we do revolves around our ability to have some fun.
5. What one piece of advice would you give a bride?
Marriage is a long arduous journey. And your bound to have ups and downs, your choice in partner is critical, in fact much like going out to dinner with a group of friends, when your main course arrives you always seem to wish you had ordered what they did…. Ha ha
6. What do you enjoy most about your job?
Being surrounded by the excitement of my clients leading up to their wedding day. To be involved in their process. Their friendliness and happiness and to play a small part in giving someone that little bit of joy on that special day.
