Do You Want Long Flowing Locks for Your Wedding Day?

29-07-2008 11:49

hair_extension.jpg

Have you ever wondered how the stars manage to go from short hair, to long flowing locks, especially on their wedding photos?

The answer is simple, yet unconventional. Hair Extensions are increasing in popularity for weddings, and if you do not have merely enough time to grow your own gorgeous locks then this is the perfect alternative.

The process can be expensive and is best done a few weeks before your big day so that the right color and cut can be achieved. Your hair will also need to adapt to the hair extensions, so best do it a few weeks in advance.

Another bonus is that the hair extensions last 4 to 6 months, so you can get the maximum usage from the product. Some products on the market are adjustable so that when you hair starts growing, it can be adjusted at the root and you extend its life.

Ask your stylist for the alternative that will best fit your hair.

 GO ON - TRY IT!!!!

Is She Taller Than You in Heels?

29-07-2008 01:25

 tom-and-katie.jpg

Are you afraid that she will be taller than you on your wedding day when she has her perfect wedding shoes and the heel makes her tower above you on the pictures?

Ever wondered how Tomatie (that's Tom and Katie) did it without Tom standing on a 'tomatie' box?

The solution is extremely simple and people will not even know. Its an in-step that fits into your shoe called a "shoe lift". It fits inside your shoe like an in step, but hase the added advantage of some more heel to give you an extra bit of lift.

You can buy these nifty products on www.Ebay.com and you'll find 100's of suppliers if your enter the search word "shoe lift". Many of the suppliers will ship internationally and these products cost next to nothing.

So even if you just wear them during the photo shoot, your pictures will be balanced.

Trends for Wedding Flowers and Decor

Trends for Wedding Flowers By Lindie

The Brides and Bridesmaids Bouquet

What I like for the bride this season is

orchids_main.jpg

1. Classic / Ornamental Bouquets

This trends has influenced the wedding industry based on the many Hollywood weddings we are seeing in the media. It characterised by the classic white or cream Orchid (Phalaenopsis). Eva Longoria's classic drapery of the orchid is the classic wedding look to go for.

Orchids are expensive but they are making a come back in stating opulence and excess.

Another use, is the one I really enoy and that is in string form. For this look you need a flower that will last long and the orchid is perfect for this! combine the use of crystals to form an elegant string bouquet!

 2. Rustic Bouquets

These bouquets are for the bride wanting a bit of an edge. Flowers are barely used and the bouquet is made mainly of willow, twigs, and a bit of earthy coloured foliage. It tends to more of an art statement than a bouquet and can be executed BRILLIANTLY. I could not find any specific pictures, but as are mostgood trends, this one will still hit the market.

Tables

One of the main trends I have noticed in table flower decor, is to MIX IT UP, keep to a theme but use varying arrangements, similar to that of bridesmaids dresses, same colour, but varying styles. The venue just comes alive when the eye is surprised with different arrangments of the same flower, and its not just the same repetitive arrangement throughout.

Another really nice addition is silver candelabra. I have seen arrangements and candelabra alternated between tables which make for such a pleasant change.

Roses are the best for weddings
Ninety five percent of wedding bouquets are hand-tied, where the flowers are gathered together and the stems are wrapped in wide satin ribbon. The best thing about wedding is that you get to see people happy though. I love roses the most, they have something other flowers do not have.

Latest Trends in Wedding and Engagement Rings

cognac_diamond_ring.jpg

The latest trends for wedding and engagement rings is the CHAMPAGNE diamond!! I was truly amazed with beauty of the stone and had no idea that they existed. A truly exquisite diamond, which woman would not want this stone to adorn her finger as her husband's declaration of love?

coloured_diamonds.jpg

Not only are there "white" diamonds, but earth produces the champagne diamond and many coloured diamonds. The colours range from brown, yellow, orange, olive, green and everything in-between. These spectacular diamonds are extremely rare and for every coloured diamond, 10 000 "white" diamonds exist. And like supply and demands teaches, the coloured diamonds are rare and therefore expensive. Red is the most expensive followed by pink, purple and green.

The brown diamonds range from light straw and champagne in colour to the very popular cognac and coffee hues. They are becoming increasingly popular and are quite accessible. These rare stones are unique in colour and intensity and allows you to find a stone that speaks to your tastes.

I hope you are able to find a diamond that matches your personality and unique style!!!!

Shall We Dance

To Dance or Not to Dance?

first_dance.jpg

If you are like me, then one of the ‘moments’ you would like to remember is your first dance! Dancing is truly one of the nicest ways to enjoy your wedding reception and if you committed to NOT dancing then you are missing out on one of the nicest parts of your wedding day. It is when everyone lets their hair down and truly enjoys the evening, and believe me you want to be part of it!

So you are not into dancing but would like to be part of the fun, I suggest that you go for dance lessons ASAP. Besides the fact that you will be working towards you wedding night, you will be doing something social with your partner every week, and this builds your relationship.

There are two types of classes you could enroll for; the first is the PRIVATE CLASS, where the dance instructor has private lessons with you for the choreographed first dance. This is usually the one that everyone enrolls for and is very important.

But, the better option is to enroll for a regular dance class with the school/class. This allows you to learn other social dances as well as getting know other people before your big day. I truly believe that this class is worth so much more than the private class, and usually costs so much less. REMEMBER, your wedding consists of many more dances than just the first dance, and so learning other dances besides the first dance is great.

Some of the dances to consider for your first dance (ranked in order of ease – in my opinion)

Rumba

Waltz

Fox Trot

Quickstep

Cha Cha Cha (for something different)

Tango

Some dances that you can enjoy on your evening

Jive

Samba

Cha Cha Cha

Salsa
