Visit our listing of jewelers in the Gallery, to get the perfect engagement ring or be as daring as to get a ring designed especially for the lucky woman!!

As this is the launch month of TheWeddingPage I have decided to start with information on a few romantic proposal ideas.

IF SHE IS ARTSY

Take her to an art gallery to view a new artist’s work. Make your own work of art that includes the words “will you marry me“or “will you be part of my life’s artwork” or the likes thereof – this is where you can get really personal and creative. Arrange with the gallery owner to hang your artwork as one of the final pieces and when she sees it, go on your knees and ask her the question.

The first question her friends and family will ask is “Let me see the ring” and close on its heels is “so how did he propose?”.

If you are on this page – YOU’RE HOOKED. You want to spend the rest of your life with her and just need to figure out how to pop the question.

EXOTIC LOCATION

Plan a trip to an exotic destination for another occasion like a birthday or anniversary. Because of this fact, an up market restaurant or night out will not be out of the ordinary, use this decoy as the perfect opportunity to propose.

BOX OF MEMORIES

Fill a box with memories and trinkets of your time together. Photos, mementos, birthday cards all of which bring back special memories will form the basis of your box of memories. Once you have filled the box, take her somewhere special and ask her to go down memory lane with you. Right at the bottom of the box will be the ring. This will create the perfect opportunity for you to propose.

USING TECHNOLOGY

Use the MMS function of your cellular telephone to create and send digital clues of your secret location. Choose a place that is special to both of you. Send pictures of detail and objects of the place that are intriguing and not entirely obvious. Wait for her to arrive suited and ready to ask the question.

MUSIC TO HER EARS

If she enjoys live performances, take her to a performance of her favourite artist. Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town is the perfect setting for this proposal. Ask the artist of orchestra to hold up a sign saying “Will you marry me” and then ask her.
